Tidelle › What leaves your phone
What leaves your phone: only what you send
Tidelle has no account and no servers. What you log stays on your phone unless you save a backup or choose a backup folder yourself, and on Android the app holds no internet permission.
Every way out, in one table
| What | Where it is | When it moves | Who moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your entries | Inside Tidelle on your phone, left out of cloud and phone-to-phone backups | Not on its own | — |
| Backup file (JSON) | Wherever you save it | When you tap Export backup (JSON) | You |
| Automatic backup | A folder you choose | Daily, weekly or monthly, into that folder. If the folder syncs to a cloud, the backup goes with it. | You switch it on and pick the folder |
| CSV export | Wherever you save it | When you tap Export CSV | You |
| PDF report | Android: a file you choose · iPhone: wherever you send it from the share sheet | When you make it | You |
| Feedback e-mail | Your e-mail app, with app version and phone model filled in | When you press send — you see it first | You |
| Purchase | Google Play or the App Store | When you buy or restore Pro. The app learns only whether Pro is unlocked. | You, through the store |
| Internet permission | Android only: the app doesn’t hold it | — | — |
How to check it yourself
Turn on airplane mode and use Tidelle as usual: logging, estimates, reminders, the report and backups all work, because none of them needs a connection. Only buying or restoring Pro talks to the store.
On Android, the permissions an app holds are part of the app itself. Once Tidelle is on Google Play, its listing’s privacy section and independent tools such as Exodus Privacy show them; the internet permission isn’t among them.
On iPhone there is no such permission to show. There, Tidelle’s privacy label in the App Store will say what the app collects: nothing.
Moving to a new phone
Because your entries are left out of cloud and phone-to-phone backups, a new phone starts empty. Save a backup file, or switch on Automatic backup to a folder you choose, then pick that file on the new phone. Backups work across Android and iPhone. Step by step: Help.
If others use your phone
App lock asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock when you open Tidelle. While it’s on, reminders and the widget show nothing about your cycle. A Discreet icon replaces Tidelle’s icon on your home screen with a plain one. Settings › Privacy › Delete all data erases everything on this phone; backup files you saved are separate files you delete yourself.
